Does locking my phone or taking a call count as leaving?
No. Put the phone down and lock it: your plant keeps growing, and the lock screen and Dynamic Island show it with the time left. Phone calls, alarms, Control Centre and the notification shade never count as leaving either.
What does “away” mean?
Away means you opened another app while your plant was growing.
- Up to 15 seconds: nothing happens.
- At 15 seconds: Fern sends one notification, and the timer stops until you come back. Time away is not counted.
- Back in time: your plant perks up and keeps growing.
- Away too long (2 minutes, or 1 minute on plants of 45 minutes and up): the plant wilts. It still goes on your shelf, a little grey, and your seed is safe. Tap Try again to grow it right back.
On plants under 45 minutes you can pause once, for up to 5 minutes. Leaving Fern during a pause is fine.
Where do my seeds go?
Every bloom drops seed packets: one on the free plan (three on your very first bloom) and three with Fern Pro. Open them on the Seed drop screen. Each packet holds a seed for a new plant or, sometimes, a pot. Seeds go to the seed picker on Grow, with a ×N count when you have more than one. Pots go to the Pots screen. Packets you have not opened yet wait for you: a small badge on the Garden points to them. Tulip, Basil and Daisy are always there, as many times as you like.
How do I restore Fern Pro?
On a new iPhone or after reinstalling Fern, tap Restore on the Pro screen or Restore purchases in Settings, signed in with the Apple ID that bought Fern Pro.
How do I cancel Fern Pro?
Open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Fern, or Manage subscription in Fern’s Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Details are in the Terms.
Can I move my garden to a new iPhone?
Not yet. Fern has no account, so your garden lives only on your iPhone. Fern Pro comes back with Restore purchases.
I don’t get notifications.
Fern only tells you when a plant needs you, or is about to bloom. Check that notifications are on for Fern in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fern, and that a Focus mode is not holding them back.
How do I delete my data?
Your garden is stored only on your iPhone, so deleting Fern removes it. To have feedback you sent deleted, email privacy@inovy.dev. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I contact you?
Use Settings → Send feedback in Fern, or email support@inovy.dev. For privacy requests, write to privacy@inovy.dev.
